Harvest and Endarterectomy of an Occluded Superficial Femoral Artery for use as an Iliofemoral Conduit after Groin Blow-out
David J Minion
University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY
OBJECTIVES: The objective of the video is to illustrate a rarely used technique to create an autogenous conduit for treatment of a mycotic femoral anastomotic pseudoaneurysm.
METHODS: The technique involves harvesting and endarterectomy of an occluded superficial femoral artery, followed by external iliac to profunda femoral bypass.
RESULTS: The outcome was successful limb salvage at current follow up of one year.
CONCLUSIONS: The technique provides a useful tool in patients with limited or no venous conduit alternatives.
